Agency for title deed applications
Does anyone know of an Agency in Paralimni area that would apply/manage my title deeds application on my behalf? I do not live in Cyprus and difficult to visit this year.
Re: Agency for title deed applications
If you mean applying for the deeds under the new recent law, then there are agencies per se. They would need a Power of Attorney to act on your behalf or the Land Registry may accept the form signed by you and then some one deliver it.Safelanding wrote:Does anyone know of an Agency in Paralimni area that would apply/manage my title deeds application on my behalf? I know some law firms handle this kind of thing but it'll cost you around €150.

Re: Agency for title deed applications
Hi safelanding
I asked this question at my meeting at the Dept. Lands & Surveys HQ in Nicosia.
You can appoint someone to act on your behalf in this matter but you will also need to get copies of all related documents, evidence, receipts, etc. certified at a Cyprus Govt. office in the UK as they advised against sending original documents in the post.
Regards,

Many thanks Nigel for asking this question on my behalf, most appreciated. Issue is I do not live in the UK and have not been resident for many years - Dubai.
If I could find some agency to set everything up and make all arrangements on my behalf, I could visit on a Friday to meet and complete all that is required. Does that sound feasible?

Hi Safelanding
You could certainly set the wheels in motion by agreeing the work that needs to be done, the fees and setting up a Power of Attorney. You should bring as much of the evidence needed as possible with you.
The British High Commission publishes a list of lawyers who should be able to help. You'll find that list at Cyprus – List of Lawyers and translators/interpreters.
There is a new member on the forum who advertised his services a couple of days ago. I deleted his message as I do not allow advertising. He may contact you if he reads your message.
