Title Insurance

Before we found out that there is an Encumbrance on our property (which, fingers crossed, could be paid off by now), we took out Title Insurance. It has given us a little bit of peace of mind.

Very interesting Kirby,but how do you go about checking out this company for legitamcy.What governing bodies are they members of?If all is genuine,yes i agree an excellent move.

Hi Kirby,

I have been looking at the link you provided. On the 'faq' page, it says:

• Who can take out this sort of cover?
  
  Any UK or Irish citizen who owns a property in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Southern Cyprus, Spain or Turkey.

In Cyprus you do not own a property until its title has been registered in your name and so it will be worth looking through the policy documentation to see exactly what risks are covered.
