How do you check if property is in your name?

Hi folks, as the title says I want to know if my house is actually in my name. I live in Paralimni and would ideally like to know where to go to check. Part of the reason is because my brother found some random land our dad put in his name and it got me wondering.

I guess you do not have the Title Deed for the property? You could ask the company you bought it from - or did you inherit the property?

You'll could also get the Land Registry to carry out a Title Search. You'll find information on how to do that at New title search procedures in Cyprus.

You can get the forms and also do it online as described at SEARCH CERTIFICATE OF IMMOVABLE PROPERTY FOR A SPECIFIC OWNER WITH (OR WITHOUT) ENCUMBRANCES AND PROHIBITIONS.

I'd appreciate some background on how you acquired the property. Also, did you pay the Property Transfer Fees?
