Can I get compensation for a proposed road through my land?

Hi Nigel and others. I have a parcel of land in Larnaca district and I am being told that there is going to be new road (eventually) that will cut through my land. I have a couple of questions. First, how can I confirm that there is a plan for this to happen, eg, do I ask the local council? Second, is there a process in place to seek compensation for loss of value of the land? I have kept all taxes up to date for decades and would be devastated if this was a forlorn effort. Many thanks.

Go to the planning dept. in Larnaca, take your title deed to check on this.

If they were going to build anything they would have notified you at your last known address for compensation, as they have to compulsorily purchase it.

So, first things first, ascertain the road then go from there, you can ask at the planning office about the compensation.
