We had word our deeds were ready in November 2014. The developer was Aristo and the company were facing legal action over a land issue. We had read that the government might reduce the tax on transferring the property to our names but a statement that the minister had spoken out of turn on this issue as the EU would not allow the reduction prompted us to pay the tax as soon as possible and get our deeds. A few months later the government reduced the tax anyway. Is it possible that we might be able claim some of the tax back? We bought the house in 2006 before VAT was introduced.
