Where is safe to buy property
Where is safe to buy property
Hello all, so we have been scouring the web looking for potential forever homes in Cyprus. Could we have your opinions on buying in northeastern Cyprus, we are talking about the likes of Pemera, Protaras, Asia Napa, Paralimni, Frenaros, liopetri, Avgorou and Xylofagou to mention a few. ( apologies for any spelling mistakes). Obviously there must be a reason these areas are cheaper than southern Cyprus, why? I get that they are close to the argued northern border. Is there any other reasons. Thanks for any input

Re: Where is safe to buy property
Hi philipreg
The places you mentioned are all in the Republic of Cyprus - not in the occupied areas of the island. (You can find maps showing the division of the island on the Internet.)
If you're looking in those areas, I suggest you get in touch with 'Pantheman', who's a regular contributor to this forum. Pan's a registered estate agent in the area and you can find his website at FSB Properties.
Have you made any progress with the 'Category F' visa?
Regards,

Re: Where is safe to buy property
Thanks Nigel, I will take a look at his property portfolio. No further information regarding the cat f visa situation at the moment, I am trying to trace my family history, there is solid evidence that my great, great grandfather hailed from Germany, if this is the case I may try for German citizenship that way negating the need for visas etc.
