Land Registry Delays

My solicitor sent in documents 2-3 weeks ago and we are still waiting for a date for the transfer of ownership. The firms said they have 2 more cases delayed and the land registry is just telling them to wait. Is there a reason for this? Is it normal to wait this much and if so anyone have a rough idea on how long as its very urgent. Whatever I try there are unfortunately always delays ahahah. Thank you for all replies!
