fencing

Post by dizzielizzie »

Hello There,

I am new to this forum. We currently own a villa in Larnaca, we would like to erect a fence on the wall around the house, it is very open and the pool is overlooked by neighbours, we would like a little privacy in our garden. Are we able to put this fence on if we haven' :?: t got title deeds? we have been told that as long as it is removeable it is ok.

Many thanks.

Hi Dizzie and welcome to the forum,

You should not make any external changes to the property that would change its appearance:

1. This may delay the issuing Title Deeds not only to your property but others on the development.

2. As you do not have the Title Deeds, the property isn't legally yours to do with as you wish.

I suggest you speak with your developer regarding a fence.

Have you thought of planting some shrubs/bushes/trees to provide you with more privacy?

Hi Nigel,

Many Thanks for your advice, we have Hibiscus planted around all our perimeter walls and they are growing quite nicely but this one spot (which is the one that provides the best view!) they just won't grow! strange. In view of your comments we shall dig out and replant perhaps some builders cement is in the soil.

Regards

Lizzie

If you're having problems growing hibiscus, try tecoma stans - we had a problem with a neighbour's window overlooking our garden and planted one of these. It grows like a rocket!!!

Or you could try a red ornamental grass - pennisetum setaceum rubrum. This also grows very quickly in our garden reaching about 7 feet high. We cut it back each year to a foot above ground level.
