Rentals

Post by erikah »

Hello,

I have bought an off plan one bedroom apartment in Paphos and have been told that the rental market is a bit tricky at the moment, a friend of mine has only managed 13 bookings this year on their apartment. I have been reading forums and a lot of people are suggesting that long term lets are the way forwards at the moment. I have seen that the rates wont cover my mortgage, however they almost get there. Can anyone comment on whether this is a good idea and how easy it is to pick up a long term tennant? If the long term tennant is the way forward does anyone have any good agents?

Many thanks

Hello erikah & welcome.

The 'jet-to-let' holiday market is very much over supplied with too many properties chasing too few tourists. Your friend has been lucky to get 13 bookings this year!

There are a number of agenciews in the Paphos area that specialise in long-term renting - and if your in a residential rather than a tourist area, your chances of finding someone to take the place on a long-term basis are better.

If you do decide to try for short-term holiday lets, theres a very good site with lots of hints and tips called 'Lay My Hat'.
