payment for emptying septic tank

we are a complex of 5 properties sharing one septic tank which has to be emptied each month.One of the 5 owners only uses their house for one month each year remaining empty for the other 11 months.my question is how much should this owner have to pay each year.they feel they should only pay one fifth of the monthly charge for the time they are in cyprus as they are not using water which ends up in the septic tank.

Hi Robert and welcome to the forum,

All the owners must contribute to the costs of insuring, maintaining, repairing, etc. the common parts of the building, which includes the septic tank. The fact that one owner of one of the houses only uses the house one month/year is irrelevant - he must pay his full share.

Thank you for your reply nigel much appreciated I explained this to the owner of the property but is still adament on what he is going to pay and contests the legally of forcing him to pay (his words ) for the 12 months.
