To all,
We have all read about people wanting to take legal action but very little materializes. I am a UK resident and purchased property in Cyprus and am now in a dire situation. With the limitations and insolvency legislation coming into force in Cyprus we are running out of time. The banks, developers and agents rely on us not taking action. The banks will seek to obtain judgment in Cyprus to come after your UK assets (as has already been documented publicly). We cannot rely on others to win for us - we must take action. Like others, I too have skirted around the hard facts, which are financial ruin in the UK that will affect my family and the roof over our heads. This prompted me to recently confide in a close relative who is a prominent London lawyer. He has advised that we seek legal opinion from a colleague who is an expert in commercial litigation. This lawyer has a proven, well documented, track record specifically in relation to Cyprus property disputes. Time is running out and we must go on the offensive and take legal action. I am willing to take on the organization and administration of this task. I will shortly be submitting my paperwork to this lawyer for expert opinion. My relative has indicated that there is sound legal argument in our favour and has recommended I set the ball rolling in trying to organize sufficient numbers for class action. The more in our group the lower the cost for everyone. I already have a number of people interested and I intend to pursue this whether anyone joins me or not. This is our opportunity to seek the justice we are all entitled to.
I am trying to get an idea of numbers so if you're interested please let me know. I am no expert in social media but will attempt to put this on Facebook and Twitter.
Regards
Janner

Hi Janner,
There are several legal firms and volunteer groups helping those with property issues. From the information I receive some are better than others.
For obvious reasons I do not recommend any one firm but suggest those who contact me to contact each of them and go with the one they feel most comfortable with. You can find a list of these firms at http://www.cypropsn.org/

There seems to be a problem with the site at the moment.
You can find an earlier version on waybackmachine at http://web.archive.org/web/201405092249 ... /law-firms
(Note this snapshot was taken on 9th May 2014 before the law firm we have been discussing came on the scene).
