Real Estate Agents refuse helping us

Post by renau »

Sorry first, I thought I had written before in this forum but I cannot find my thread unless I had used different email.

Anyways, we want to sell a piece of land with a building in it. The building is consisted of two houses, each circa 95-100 square meters plus a helping 'studio' and garage place for 1 car. The total is circa 240 square meters and the title is ''1/2'', meaning its not whole. The other half belongs to a relative who is cooperative in selling our own half.

Note that the title deed of ''1/2'' refers to ''land''(city land) not any building. On the title it says generally ''buildings exist in this land'' and nothing else. The building itself does not have its own title deed.

So far so good. The building is understandibly old and non-renovated, but thats why we ask low price. Still no agents wants to help us sell it! Maybe cause they think it won't sell easily, or as easily as brand new villas or flats, or because they lack imagination.

I think this building, offered at low price, can be converted to commercial by the buyer, can be eeasily renovated and converted to one villa of two floors, or a developer can invest and resell it double or triple the buying price. So do agents are not really interested to promote it?

Thanks for any replies.

Hello renau and welcome to the forum.

There are many old houses in need of renovation being advertised. Have you asked the estate agents why they are reluctant to advertise yours?

There are a number of websites that offer free advertising including Angloinfo Cyprus and Cyprus Expat.

Hello, angloinfo does not advertise property sale for free. But I will try the other expat forums.

What location are you in??

Perhaps your asking price it too high for them to get any sale?

What you seem to think is a low price may not be that low. Are you selling the whole or just half a share as not many will buy shares these days.
