Hello Nigel, ive mentioned about our property before but now there is a new angle on it.
We bought an old ruin in 2008 (with title deeds and this is important)and substantially renovated it into a 220sq mtr property which we have occupied for the past four years.
We got a final completion certificate from the authorities and everyones a happy chappy (so we thought).
Now here's were the fun starts. The authorities say we now have NOT got deeds anymore because they have suddenly discovered that a developer used some of OUR land to build eight houses next to us.
And it gets worse. If we took back our land that the developer took from us(which the authorities say we could) so we can get our deeds then the poor souls who have bought the properties next to us will be landlocked and can not gain access to their own properties.
Now to the main subject (even more bizarre)If they will not re-issue our deeds and no one else has them then how can we or anyone else pay the IPT
I suppose i could be the devil and charge my nieghbors a fortune for this land or i could be the re-incarnation of Mother Theresa herself and GIVE them this land.My family here would think i had finally gone mad in my old age if i did the latter.
So,how do we or anyone else pay the IPT
Thanks.......(a frustrated) Terry Liversidge

Hi Terry,
What a mess!
I suggest you get a lawyer onto the case and try to come to an amicable arrangement with your neighbours that's acceptable to the Land Registry so that you can all progress the issuance of your deeds.
