Rental agencies

Hi, I would like your help with regard to the agency I used to rent my property. Agreement was that tenant would pay deposit and 1months rent in advance which is normal and Agency would keep deposit for getting the tenant and would lodge months rent to my account. I don't live in Cyprus so can only phone or email Agent but he is now refusing to give me the rent. I have used the Company for 3/4 years with no problems but it is the owner who is doing this so not sure what to do. Can anyone advise.

I think your best approach would be to instruct a lawyer - perhaps a 'stiff' letter from your lawyer to the agency would be enough.

Nigel, thanks for the advice and I know it is probably my only option but I had issues still have when buying my property and getting the solicitor just cost me a lot of money with negative result. I must tell you that your broadcasting of all the title deed issues have really helped me during my negative experiences and worries since buying my apartment. My experience has left me with the feeling that I can't trust anyone in Cyprus.
