It would appear that our neighbours are planning to build an extension attached to their Villa in front of our balcony. Are there "building regulations" for extensions in Cyprus, if so, do you know where we can obtain a copy? We are friends with them (but obviously, not that friendly) and would have expected them to tell us what they were planning especially as it will substantially affect the value our villa. We don't mind spending some dough on getting our Barrister involved if that is what it takes.
Thanks
Alan

Re: Building Regulations
Hi Alan
There are indeed planning regulations - and your neighbour should not extend his property without having obtained the necessary permits from the planning authority.
You should report the matter to your Community Office - and if necessary the Planning Authority. They should deal with the matter.
If you don't get anywhere, you may have to take the matter up with your lawyer.
Regards,

Re: Building Regulations
Thanks Nigel, there was somone round yesterday and mentioned "3 meters" perhaps they were from the planning office - on a Saturday? Methinks that they do not have their Title Deeds, I'll ask our Developer tomorrow.
Best wishes

Re: Building Regulations
Hi Alan - the 3 metres is the gap they need to leave between their building and their boundary wall (usually).
