Immoveable property tax

Post by mak1 »

Hi,

After waiting over 6 years for my title deeds I finally received them in July this year, I paid the developer 2200 Euros for the immoveable property tax he had paid on my behalf, which after hearing some of the scare stories I was happy to pay and I actually believe was correct.
I keep reading the statement immoveable is payable on all properties registered in your name on the 1st January, my question is do I need to pay IPT this year or has it already been paid by the developer on my behalf bearing in mind the property was not registered in my name until July 2013.
Any light shed on this dilemma would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Hi mak1

If you read through your contract of sale, you'll probably find a clause making you liable to pay all local taxes and other property-related expenses from the time you took delivery of the property.

For further information and to be sure that you are paying the correct amount, please visit Immovable Property Tax.
