Selling our house?

Post by Mesogi »

Hi,

We want to sell our house in Anarita and would like some advice/tips on the best way to do this.

We do not have our Title Deeds, however, three houses on our development have been sold all without their Deeds.

Can anyone recommend an Estate Agent?

Does anyone know the newspapers ( Cypriot, Russian etc) in which we can advertise our property?

We have advertised in Paphos Post and on AngloInfo.

Constructive advice would be very much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Mesogi and welcome to the forum,

As three houses on your development have been sold without Title Deeds, it may be worthwhile speaking with the sellers/buyers to find out which estate agent they used.

There are many newspapers that will accept property ads - Cyprus Weekly, Cyprus Mail + the Greek language press such as ΠΟΛΙΤΗΣ, Φιλελεύθερος, Σημερινή - there are two Russian papers in Limassol - one can be found at http://cyprusadvertiser.com/ and the other is Vestnik Kipra.

As for estate agents, you can find a list of registered agents in Paphos at http://skekcyprus.com/en/pafos-members/ - if you use one of these you can use their charges to offset your Capital Gains Tax liabilities.

I too am trying to sell a house, without title deeds, (we are going through the process but as you know this may take years, which we do not have ) but cannot find an agent that will
1- come up to the mountains to look at it or
2- if they will come up here they will not take it on to their books and advertise it without the title deeds

I have tried on line but although there have been 'hits' no actual enquiries. We have even dropped the price by 100000 Euros So what do we do now?????

I used Cyprus101. Both sold without deeds. However it did take a long time and at the time our prices were very realistic. We sold our apartment last November before all the turmoil so I'm not sure how much the market has changed. Villa sold April 2011.
