Immovable and Municiple property taxes.

Post by footy123 »

Hello Nigel

We have just got the title deeds for an apartment we own.Over the past eight years we have paid around 1500 euros in Immovable and Municiple taxes to the developer, the two were charged as one item (not billed seperately).
Can i claim any of the taxes back, and if i can how do i go about it,on the assumption that claiming it is not to much of a song and dance.

Thanks Terry Liversidge

Hi Terry

You should be able to reclaim any legitimate overpayments in Immovable Property Tax. You'll find information on my website at http://www.cyprus-property-buyers.com/law/tax.htm

You'll need to complete a Form IR 314 plus another form (E PR 301) for each of the years you have been paying IPT to the developer.

You will need the assistance of the developer in completing the forms + other information referred to in the link above.

Hi Terry

It seems there is a revised IR 314 form that has some extra information requesting information from the land registry and the electricity authority (the rest of the form is the same as the one you have got).

Also, there is another form needed - IR 303, which is a tax declaration. You can get that from http://www.mof.gov.cy/mof/ird/ird.nsf/A ... penElement
