Hi everyone
We are thinking about purchasing an apartment at Pissouri vines 5. Having looked around the remaining apartments I noticed a very tall retaining wall at the rear of the complex. I have read that there is a fair amount of land movement in this part of Cyprus, and therefore this retaining wall is a worrying site. Has anyone any information with regard to this complex and land movement in Pissouri? We are travelling to Cyprus in Feb to look at other areas, and peruse -30% discounted key ready apartments as advertised by some developers.
Mant thanks
Andrew.

Re: Land movement
Hi Andrew and welcome to the forum,
I don't know that specific development, but there have been some problems in the Pine Villas development. A couple of years ago a retaining wall collapsed following heavy rain narrowly missing a chap who had just left his garden shed:
(You can read more about this in my magazine at http://www.news.cyprus-property-buyers. ... ri/id=0073 )
Some other properties were built on a land that subsequently subsided:
If you are concerned, I suggest you get an independent engineer to check it out and give you their opinion. And get yourself a decent independent lawyer - don't whatever you do use the 'free' legal services provided by the developer.
You'll find the list of lawyers provided by the British High Commission at http://www.news.cyprus-property-buyers. ... /id=002254 - and if you want a personal recommendation, get in touch with me via my website.
Regards,

Nigel
Many thanks for your advise/response. The pictures look horrific! Pissouri vines 5 is located behind Aphrodite gardens. I will consult a local independant engineer if we decide to purchase in that area. Paphos, Polis and Argaka are the other areas of interest to us.
Kind regards
Andrew
