Hello,
I and my friend are foreigners and we want to live in Cyprus for some time, we have found an apartment for rent, we signed the lease agreement (the agreement were scanned and we sent it back to landlord) and paid the down payment for holding the apartment for us. When everything were set up we received an email that The landlord went to his lawyer for confirmation of the rental agreement and he told him that the Cyprus government has lay down a law that reservation not be confirmed for international tenant unless they make a full month payment.
Is it true ?
I dont know if the landlord rent the flat for the first time and didnt know that. We have just paid the down payment and after that we are being told that we have to pay another money

For rental agreements it is normal to pay one month rental as a deposit and one month in advance. But this can vary according to your agreement.
