Completion Certificate - delays

Dear Nigel,

I have written to you before about the delays in issuing the completion certificate for my property - the latest 'excuse' according to our Developer (after 18th months of waiting for it) is that there are ' pipework problems on the main road due to settlement which has affected our site road'. This is not mains water but drainage which obviously only occurs after heavy rain and does not actually affect the houses.

As I don't believe half of what our Developer ever says (after 13 years of dealing with him) my question is 'Could this actually be true or just a cover-up for another of our developer's 'cock-ups'.

Gill

Dear Gill

I can't say whether this is just another cover-up for another of your developer's cock-ups.

I suggest you apply for your Title Deed, it will cost you €10. You can find further information and the form at 'Apply for your Title Deed'.

As the Title Deed for your property has not been issued, you may be asked to complete an application for the forced issuance of the Title Deed for the property.

This will help accelerate the process.
