New Law regarding Hidden Mortgages.

Good news for people who have not been able to get title deeds because of a hidden mortgage, but what happens when there is no mortgage on your house or land but the developer has just constantly delayed getting the relevant certificate of approval which would enable him to apply for the title deeds. The application for my certificate of approval has been in the District Office for nearly 18 months and still no sign of it. I no longer live in Cyprus and my property is now unoccupied but I desperately need to sell but no agent (other than the developer) will put it on their books.
What on earth can I do to expediate matters?
Gill.

Hi Gill

I understand that the Land Registry is putting pressure on the planning authorities to issue these certificates. Cyprus needs to reduce the backlog of outstanding deeds if it is to receive bailout money from the troika.

Where is the property located?

I find it hard to believe that no agent will take it on due to no title.
