Turkish Cypriot property in Southern Cyprus guidance wanted

Hi to all,
I would like to ask a few things regarding a current problem that i face.
In brief, there is a piece of land in Southern Cyprus, currently under management of the relevant authority-i don't know the exact name, that i am interested in buying. I know the name of the legal owner before 1974. This person has left Cyprus before 1974.
My questions are these:
1. Supposing that i find the owner or the heir(s) of the land, how can i buy the old pre-1974 title deed and convert it to a Cyprus current one?
2. Is it true that in the past transactions as described above took place in the UK? As far as i can understand that was a purchase of the title with a regular bill of sale.
3. Again supposing that i get hold of a Cyprus current title, are there any kind of expected problems of any kind?
I will appreciate any answer
Thanks

Hi pantera and welcome to the forum.

I can't help you with this. The Minister of Interior is the Custodian of Turkish Cypriot Properties - I suggest you visit the website to see if you can find any information/contact details.

The relevant page on the website is http://www.moi.gov.cy/moi/moi.nsf/All/6 ... 2B003AF3FC (but with my limited knowledge of Greek, I can't point you any further).

Regards,

Hi Nigel and thanks a lot for your reply,
allow me to say that due to several violations of the relevant legislation, especially before 2004, and also because of the still complicated and sensitive issues regarding the Turkish Cypriot properties there are no helpful information. Thanks again.
