can I protect my home in the UK?

Post by dylan2010 »

We have defaulted on our mortgage in Cyprus and have been told that they are treating us as uncooperative. I have emailed Alpha bank several times explaining our financial position and asking for an acknowledgement of my email but needless to say I never get any response from them. My query is I have heard that if our home in the UK is not in our name for 5 years the bank cannot take it. We transferred our property into an enduring trust in our children's name 4 years ago and their names are on the title deeds. Can anyone tell me if I have got my facts right or not please?

Hello dylan2010 and welcome to the forum.

Sadly, Louise rarely has the time to visit the forum these days. I suggest that you ask your family solicitor in the UK, he/she should be able to advise you on this matter.
