Division Permit

Post by pauline michie »

Since our developer stopped trading, with the aid of a solicitor we have been making progress towards obtaining title deeds. However, we've now spotted that the Division Permit appears to only have been valid for three years and has just run out!

Please could you tell me whether this has to be renewed and, if so, are we jointly responsible for this or is it something the solicitor has to do? Will there be a cost to this?

At the moment we are having to fund health and safety work. We are wondering what additional costs we might incur before title deeds can be issued.

Hi pauline

If the division permit has expired, you (or someone) will need to re-apply.

You'll need to speak with your planning authority to get an indication of the likely costs.

Thanks for your reply, Nigel. Can we assume that this is just a 'rubber stamping' exercise, as the processes necessary to be granted a division permit have already been carried out?
