looking for advice - writ of summons received

Post by cbrman »

Hello all,

we are new to the forums, hope we can get some much needed advice!

In a nutshell, bought a property in 2007, struggled to make ever rising swiss franc payments, tried to re negotiate with laiki bank until they got taken over by the bank of Cyprus.

nothing happened until now, we have a writ of summons to respond to.

we are really worried about losing our uk home after years of hard work, and many thousands of pounds wasted in Cyprus!

can anyone point us in the right direction please?

regards

andy

Welcome to the forum Andy - I have sent you an email.

For the benefit of others in the same position:

It’s essential that you seek advice from your lawyer in Cyprus – see Do not ignore Cypriot bank writs for loan non-payment.

If you don’t have a lawyer, get in touch with one on the list provided by the British High Commission in Nicosia.

I suggest you gather together all the correspondence between yourself and the Laiki as this should greatly help your case when presented at court.
