Alpha Bank and Swiss Franc Mortgages!

Very good site
Could you send me the names and contact details of the various groups representing those with potential claims of mis-selling.
We like many have a swiss franc mortgage with Alpha Bank.
All they required at the time 2006 was accountants letter as prof of income no thoughts about out goings or mention of rise in rates etc.
Where was their duty of care.

Hi I am new to this Forum but if possible would like some help. We have an apartment in Paphos and were mis-sold a swiss mortgage in 2006 with Alpha Bank and MRI...When we took out the mortgage we were not told that the interest only period is only for 5 years...this is coming to and end in the next few months and we will definately not be able to meet the repayments. I was just wondering if anyone had any succes on remaining in the interest only mortgage.

I have emailed you a list of the various groups taking action and/or negotiating with the banks. I haven't heard from anyone who has renegotiated their interest only loan.

Has anyone been able to renegotiate the Swiss Franc (CHF) home loan into a GBP (or EUR) with Alpha Bank?

If so, was you able to secure an exchange rate close to when you purchased the property (When we got 2 CHF to 1 GBP), or was it based on today's exchange rate (heaven forbid, currently around 1.4 CHF to 1 GBP).

It seems to me that the Alpha Bank does pretty much as it pleases without any consideration for its customers and with complete immunity from responsibility.

I would not, in all honesty, be able to say that I was sold an Alpha Bank CHF mortgage without my knowledge but I am finding it difficult to keep up with the mortgage.

My mortgage is now over £120,000 higher than it was when I took it out in 2007. I believe this is because of the rate of exchange for the Swiss Franc.

The way this is going I am unlikely to ever be able to repay the mortgage.

Naturally, the financial advisor that handled the mortgage in the first place is no longer in business (although I am not saying that he did not do what he thought was best at the time).

Can anyone make any suggestions how I might be able to get out of this hole?

Hello everyone ,
Me and my husband also having trouble with our Swiss franc mortgage .
Wanted to find out has anyone joined any groups and have had any progress . We are really confused . As Kelly mentioned in previous post that some solicitors are willing to fight the case of mis selling and charge around 20 percent of what they can save us . I would really like to know has anyone joined any solicitors who can help them in this way . I just don't want to make a mistake again by trusting solicitors as I did in the past. Thanks
