Incompetent lawyers Limossol/they lost my file and deeds

Post by Allthetimeintheworld »

I my husband and I are at our wits end.
The first week in November we took our ID, Deeds, etc to start the ball rolling on a sale to a Limossol lawyer.
Last friday we called and asked him to send a copy of the deeds as a date was unclear and things were starting to move.
Today we finally get through to him despite his office saying they would call us back which he didnt, to have him say he cant find our file with the deeds etc in and we have to get new ones!!!!!!!!!
Any suggestions anybody as to what we can do other than scream and shout and cry?
Also any recommendations as to who we should be using ?
Thanks
Xx

Hi Allthetimeintheworld

If you have documents proving you own the property, you can get the deeds yourself from the Land Registry.

Thanks for that, we have proof of ownership but are cross at the cavalier attitude of the lawyer, and why should we have to pay to obtain these again?
Also as an MEU3 holder do we have to obtain permission to buy another one?
Thanks

Unfortunately, 90% of the lawyers give the rest a bad name.

The Title Deed will cost you €10.00 - I suggest you get a couple.

As for a MEU3, I don't know how you can get another copy. If you have your MEU1 I expect it will be easier to get a MUKW3.

Another what, property or MEU3?? If you are non EU (as you appear to be ) then you need CoM permission to buy up to 2 properties.
