Has this happened to anyone else please?
In January Alpha Bank said we owed them around 300Euro on our mortgage with them. When I queried this, as I am always up to date on my payments, they apologised and said that as I had the mortgage for five years and the rate was due to go up (which I knew about), they had inadvertently programmed my details wrong and not to worry, no arrears.
This morning I get a letter from the Uk Debt Collection agency (Daniels Silverman) with our Alpha Bank details on them saying we owe Alpha Bank £1,265.27
The letter is a Final Demand, yet I know:
* I am not in arrears -I have checked online and all my payments have been made up to date, including the now increased monthly amount
* the letter is a Final Demand yet this is the first I have heard of it
* Alpha Bank have not got in contact with me about any arrears since January which they then said was their mistake.
Of course I have emailed Alpha Bank to see what they say about it, but am now sh&tting bricks. Even though I know my account is up to date!
Any advice please? Thank you!
Alpha Bank and Daniels Silverman

Hi kirby
You can safely ignore correspondence from Daniels Silverman - they can do nothing.
I suggest you wait until the bank contacts you - if you here nothing within the week, get them on the phone.

Thank you so much Nigell have been very worried!
Re: Alpha Bank and Daniels Silverman
Just an update!
I emailed Alpha Bank and eventually they came back and said we owed them EURO 408 (and not £1,200-odd!) due to a mix up when the mortgage fixed amount changed .... so.. phew! I am so glad I did not pay Daniels Silvermans out of sheer fear of getting a bad credit record. Anyone else who gets a letter from there, please don't panic!
Thanks for your reassurance again Nigel!
