Re: Dreaded title deeds!
Hi Lizzie, If you've only had the property for 2 years, I doubt very much that you'll be getting your Title Deeds soon. You may have read that there are currently around 120,000 properties waiting for their Title Deeds and the Interior Minister has plans to speed things up. But even so you're probab...

Re: Hello from me
Hi Mustafa and welcome to the forum. I've moved your question to the 'General Property Questions' section. This forum is for people buying and selling property - if you let me know where the property is situated, I can point you to a more appropriate forum. There is an excellent website and forum fo...

Hi Oivind and welcome to the forum, I suggest you contact ETEK (The Cyprus Scientific & Technical Chamber). ETEK is the statutory Technical Advisor to the State and is the umbrella organisation for all Cypriot Engineers; these include: architecture including landscape architecture, civil engineering...

Re: Lawyers and their reliability---
Hello Andrew I'm afraid that many of the lawyers in Cyprus are slow & unresponsive. Telephone calls, emails and letters are often ignored. Your lawyer isn't unique in this respect. The only thing you can do is keep badgering them until you get a reply - better still to meet with them face-to-face. I...

Re: Builders,registered,licensed?
Hi Terry
As long as the UK electricians have successfully registered with the Cypriot authorities, there shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks Terry,
Looking back at your original message, I see you're building a 240 sq.m property. Does the current dwelling have a 3-phase supply?
If not, you might wish to consider upgrading it.
Cheers,

Re: How much has land gone down in larnaca?
Hi knucklehead It’s difficult to say, I’m not really an analyst. Although prices of new property have fallen by 30% in some areas, these generally relate to properties being sold by developers to non-Cypriots. And it’s been recognised that these properties were overpriced in the first place. Reports...

Re: Long term rental gone wrong-estate agents
Hi Mrs K, I contacted Louise about the problem - here is her reply: "Unfortunately, I have heard of a number of cases similar to this and it seems that there are a lot of unethical agents out there. It is not standard practice in Cyprus to run any credit or background checks on potential tenants and...

Re: How to Push for Completion
I'm afraid you may well heve difficulty getting your developer to complete the job. Once he's got his money and you've taken delivery, you have no leverage over him. There's an article in my magazine " Top 10 tips on what to do on discovering problems with your new property ", a 'stiff' letter from ...

If you're having problems growing hibiscus, try tecoma stans - we had a problem with a neighbour's window overlooking our garden and planted one of these. It grows like a rocket!!! Or you could try a red ornamental grass - pennisetum setaceum rubrum. This also grows very quickly in our garden reachi...

Hi Gerry & welcome to the property forum. We did a 'self-build' but concrete & brick construction. The first thing you'll need is an architect to draw up the plans and apply for the planning & building permits. Unfortunately, their website's being redeveloped at the moment, but their phone numbers a...

Hi Stalled and welcome to the forum,
I see that you have furnished the property ready for letting. But have you actually taken delivery of the property?

Re: fencing
Hi Dizzie and welcome to the forum, You should not make any external changes to the property that would change its appearance: 1. This may delay the issuing Title Deeds not only to your property but others on the development. 2. As you do not have the Title Deeds, the property isn't legally yours to...
