Re: Harrison Auctioneers
Hi, Does anyone know anything about Harrison Auctioneers? I see that their next auction is in July. They charge a one off fee of about €600 and then 6% fees if/when the property sells. Is this worth a punt? Do you expect to get anything close to your asking price at the auction?? Then you pay 600 e...

Re: Class action against TRNC
The main problem I see with this is that the 'TRNC' is not recognised and therefore not a legal entity. The class action will have to be against Turkey and large organisations such as HSBC who do exist legally. Only time will tell. perhaps it's just tzimpides touting for business, but I wish them lu...

Re: EU bailout for Cyprus
With all due respect, but you have gone completely off topic. You have taken a bail out thread to complain about the property issues which are totally unrelated. Talk about spin. In any case I will shut up now as there is no point in a disussion when you want to go off at a tangent and complain abou...

Re: EU bailout for Cyprus
Janner, I didn't say that, I was responding and answering your post. You had made some assumptions and I disagreed. Tell me what country today does not have banking problems. We can cross each bridge as we come to it since they situation is very dynamic and subject to change hourly. All we can do is...

Re: EU bailout for Cyprus
Hi Pantheman, I understand that the cyprus government bailed out popular bank the other day. If they have to offer more money to prop up the banks then they may not be able to do it and may have to go to the ECB for a handout. If this happens then I assume then the EU powers to be would want to see...

Re: EU bailout for Cyprus
Wishful thinking I'm afraid.
What the developers loans are is nothing to do with the government books.
Whats between a bank and its customers is nothing to do with the EU.
Ths property issues are totally unrelated, I would be surprised if we needed a bail out.

Re: Missed long term rental payment
HI Michelle, We too let out long term and have a contract, drawn up by one of the biggest law firms in Cyprus, and have a condition whereby we can take entry to the property immediately if the rent is 21 days late. As far as we were made aware there is no Landlord and Tenant Act in Cyprus and if you...

Re: Missed long term rental payment
Hello Michelle, 14 days is not a lot of time, in fact you'd have to give notice anyway. To take any form of legal action the tenant needs to be 2 months in arrears, then you need to apply to the court. You could go with someone and tell them unless they pay you will throw them out, but that'll just ...

Re: Greek Crisis
Hi there, ok there is a big problem in Greece the finacial crisis, but why this will affect Cyprus? I think Cyprus made some serious moves to avoid that. AOZ, partnership with USA & Israel, strong finance countries. Greece is trying that now. So I would not worry for Cyprus. Even for us Greeks have...

Re: Alpha Bank interest rate cut
Perhaps they have finally realised it's no good pushing under when you are already down. After all, if you finally fail they get nothing.
Better to have something than nothing I guess. Alph Bank has been in the spot light of late so perhaps it is a way to try and redeem themselves????

Re: Lodging a "Memo" against the title of someones property
If you should plave a memo, you could then charge interest at 9% pa and the longer he takes to sell the higher the bill would be. It could then turn to be a sizable amount and it may get them thinking. Alternatively threaten them with baliffs as nigel as stated above. Many a time this is enough to m...
