Re: Swimming Pool license

Hi Barry If you wish the Management Committee to discuss lifeguarding the pool, which is a legal requirement, you should call for an Extraordinary General Meeting. According to the law: "The Management Committee may, whenever it considers expedient, and has the obligation to convene an extraordinary...

Re: Zone C3 Agricutural Land

Hi David

I don't know what you wish to do with your properties on your demise, perhaps leave it to your children in your Will?

However, as Brits can no longer own agricultural land there may be a problem if you leave your it to your children (assuming they're British or non-EU citizens.)

Re: Zone C3 Agricutural Land

Hi David

There may be a further problem, I've just remembered that following Brexit there are restrictions on what Brits can buy - see Buying property in Cyprus and visiting post Brexit

Do you already have any property in Cyprus?

Re: No appllicants for committee

Hi Barry I've moved your question to the 'Communal Property Management' section. The situation is in a state of flux. If you check out the Department of Lands and Surveys ‘Citizens Charter’ , you see how it's possible to ask the Land Registry to manage the complex on behalf of the owners. The DLS pa...

Re: Will I pay VAT when selling multiple properties

Hi espghia Unless you bought the house and the land in the name of a company, you shouldn't have to pay any VAT - as resales are not subject to VAT. However, friends of mine sold a large plot of land ant the Ta Department considered it was a company sale, despite the fact they bought it jointly in t...

Re: Obligations for transparency of a Propert Management Company

Hi Irvin and welcome to the forum. As it's a legal requirement for communal buildings comprising four or more units to have a Management Committee, I urge you and other owners to set one up a.s.a.p. Information on how to go about this + the MCs & owners rights and obligations may be found in the law...

Re: Zone C3 Agricutural Land

Hi David

There isn't a letter 'C' in the Greek language - where did you get the information?

It's most probably Γ3 (gamma) - G in English. ('Γ' is the third letter in the Greek alphabet.)

Re: Seeking Guidance on Managing Inherited Company Share

Hi Dave

I'm sorry, I can't help you any further. What you're asking is way outside my knowledge/experience.

Perhaps an accountant or an auditor could advise.

Re: Seeking Guidance on Managing Inherited Company Share

Hi Dave

Presumably your late father's company was audited? I suggest you contact the auditors for a copy of their report.

There is a website at https://www.infocredit.com.cy/Default.aspx that may have details of the company.

It may be possible to get an injunction - a court order preventing the bar from playing music loudly and stopping the general ...

Re: Is this calculation accurate?

Let's say the house is 250 sqm and it's priced at €300,000.

On the first 200sqm (which is 80% of the house) you pay 5% on 80% of the €300,000

On the remaining 50sqm. (which is 20% of the house) you pay 19% on 20% of the €300,000.
