Re: TITLE DEEDS AND LAIKI BANK
Suzanne, ref this comment: my developer is telling me now, that I will have to pay more as they (the banks) are going to bankrupt him and our title deeds are in his name! This is also nonsense, there should be no more to pay. The title just needs a transfer and the Transfer fees are paid to the Land...

Re: TITLE DEEDS AND LAIKI BANK
Hi, I am wondering if anyone else is in my current situation?? Me and my partner were in the process of transferring our title deeds and then the current Economic crisis hit Cyprus! The problem is that we had signed all of the papers with the bank, to transfer our mortgage for title deeds, but we c...

Re: Laiki Bank mortgage
How do we stand with our mortgage with Laiki Bank if they go bankrupt ? you just continue to pay it to someone else. The mortgage will be sold, albeit at a loss to the bank, but you will have a new lender wanting his monthly repayments. The new lender however, cannot change the original mortgage ag...

Re: Title Deeds
Nigel With all the horror stories of people losing their homes due to developers debts , etc, (where this is no fault of the owner) I am becoming more and more nervous (and wary) of purchasing in Cyprus. One of the fundamental safeguards seems to be to buy a resale property with title deeds. If I b...

Re: Title Deeds
Hi Nigel, Does anyone know " The Bank " that deals with checking for mortgages before a developer will issue Title Deeds. This mystery Bank has already disclosed that there are 2 mortgaged properties on our development of 32, but our developer says it will be a month or so before this Bank releases...

Re: Family land in Cyprus
I guess, you are going through probate now?? Once issued your solicitor has the power to do these things. You do relise probate costs in Cyprus are very expensive? They have the right to charge you 8%-10% of your estate value! Total rip off if you ask me, a law made by lawyer MPs to make money on th...

Re: Family land in Cyprus
Hi Nick,
you cannot access on line, you have to go in person. In fact if your parents/G.parents are alive they can go or go with you.
You will need to go to the Limmassol Land registry office for this.
Good Luck

Re: Change in planning laws re agricultural plots
Hi Nigel, I just spoke to my Civil Engineer who tells me that these proposals have been rejected by the government on votong and that things remain as they were. I am expecting something in writing that says this. Initially I was led to believe that it was a directive for the planning departments, b...

Re: Change in planning laws re agricultural plots
Nigel, I have been advised that the new regulation states that any licence issued by end of Jan 2013 will be valid, after that development on agricultural land will not be allowed, unless under some special circumstances. A civil engineer friend has promised to bring me some documentation on this fo...

Re: Non Payment of Communal Fees
Sounds like a good idea, but I would be very surprised if it were true. The only people legally able to cut anyone off is the electricity board. Why they would get involved in other people's squabbles is anyone's guess, unless the non communal payer didn't pay his electric. This is only my logical o...

Re: What do you think of this offer?
Don't do it, you'll get nothing for your money and you will still be at square 1.
Save your money and trouble.
better to approach your developer and find out where you are with the deeds situation, maybe they have done much of the work, but you won't know until you ask.
