Re: Oil boom or no oil boom
Nigel, With the CM article it would be wise to read stuarts post and as the Winnipeg freepress well in Canada you are best sticking to Edmonton for the Oilfield. A good site would be Rigzone.com which will help people. Now maybe people think I am being on the down-side But over 32 years I have been...

Re: Oil boom or no oil boom
Pan I think you are being a bit OTT that you think the ROC will be the EU Energy Hub for the next 50 years, Now one well has been spudded in then tested. Thats all Actually when you look into how many wells the Industry does per year say for example Iraq will do around 5000 wells over the next 4 ye...

Re: Oil boom or no oil boom
Early days yet. The RoC s not counting its chickens just yet. It's only a matter of time when we realise the benefits of these extractions then our credit rating will be 'Unlimited' The percentage growth you are quoting (with glee I might add), is for the coming year. The benefits of the extractions...

Re: developer cancellation fee
7.5k fees is outrageous. He has taken advantage. Does you contract not mention any capping to this charge?? Was your lawyer initial EL, if so you got stuffed. Eitherway, not all developers are like this. Some do not charge, some as little as 1.5k. But for the figure you mentioned, well that juat tak...

Re: Defaulting on a loan
Hi Nigel, hope you are well. An update; I ceased making monthly payments to the Bank in February 2011, citing a reduction in income due to illness. This was entirely true, however, I think I would have done it had I not become ill and still in receipt of my usual monthly salary. The Bank have been ...

Re: Home improvement loans in Cyprus??
Hello Tincanally, getting a loan here is like anywhere else. You have to be able to prove you can make the repayments. By having title deed property surely does get you a loan easier, but you would be risking your inheritance if you run inti financial problems. Now, if you can get the loan, referb a...

Re: Title Deed fee suspension - Parliamentary meeting
My solicitor has just emailed me back to say it doesn't apply to me and it only applies to those who paid VAT on their property. I believe this is correct. The Land & Property Developers Association and KSIA were both pushing for this change. Assuming it is approved by parliament, it will affect th...

Re: land procedures
can anyone out there help us we have been advised by a family member that it will be extremly diffult to transfer monies from a land sale to a UK account. Can anyone inform us if this is the case? This is nonsense, they don't know what they are talking about. EU free movement of money easy as pie. ...

Re: land agents
Personally, I think valuations today from valuers are useless. I have seen quite a few of these and I can say these guys are on a different planet. Just ask them how many pieces they sold recently?? best to get some comparables, ask a couple of local estate agents what they think. people will pay wh...

Re: planning to build block of flats on my land in cyprus
Nick, with all due respect, you should give up this idea. It will end in tears and heart break not only for you, but for anyone who may buy. You clearly have no idea about developing, laws, selling or finanace. If your land is big enough and it is in a build zone with large enough build density, ask...
