Re: Title Deeds and the LRO

Hi Howard

Re: Transferring funds to the uk

Hi Patricia and welcome to the forum. I suggest you use one of the currency transfer companies to transfer the proceeds from your sale to the UK. If you look for currency transfer reviews on the Internet, I'm sure you'll find the one most appropriate to your circumstances. The banks here (or at leas...

Re: Communal Insurance - Service Standards

Hi Brian I'm with, what I thought was, a good medical insurance company. But they can take four or five months to settle a claim. As far as I am aware there are no set time-scales for Insurance Companies to settle claims. But there is an Insurance Companies Control Service that may be able to help. ...

Hi Howard

A judge not knowing the law? What a mess.

Do you have any date for the next hearing?

Re: Lawyer Fees not stated

Hi Tim All lawyers are sent details of changes/amendments to the law - you might ant to ask your lawyer why he doesn't read them. You could also direct him to the amendment to the law, which can be found at http://cylaw.org/nomoi/arith/2018_1_107.pdf. And also the full text of the amended law at htt...

Re: Lawyer Fees not stated

Good morning Tim and welcome to the forum The Cyprus Bar Association used to mandate the minimum lawyers' fees for out of court work , which included the administration of estates. If they charged less they faced disciplinary action, which could result in them losing their licence. However, a succes...

Re: Finding owner of niegbouring property

Communal property is owned by everyone, whereas the floor of the apartment above and the ceiling of the apartment below are shared between the owners of those apartments (like party walls).

Re: Decomissioning a pool

Hi Peter and welcome to the forum Apologies for the delay, I've only just spotted your post. What the Management Committee should be doing is taking action against the non-payer to recover the money. But meanwhile everyone else will have to pay more to cover the shortfall. There is nothing in the la...

Re: Conversing with the DLO

Hi coops

I expect you're after information regarding your application for Title Deeds? There are around 70,000 others wanting the same.

There are people outside the LROs who may be able to help, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

It's a case of waiting. The LRO will be in touch eventually.
