Re: Is lawyer negligent?
Brookster. I would not expect too much from CBA but if no one pursues these crooks they just keep going. If you get a win verdict from CBA that is enough to publish the name of the crook and hit them where it hurts- their pockets. That is why I pursued mine with the hope of getting her barred but wi...

Re: letting my property
Hi Conker. There are a few sharks out there so you might want to be very careful, easier said than done I know. If property is in Pafos area you might wish to consider Susan/Thaki at Mr Rent. They have been dealing with my property for last 4 years and I have never had any problems with their servic...

Re: Property lettings in Cyprus
Where is the house?
I have been letting mine out for the past 4 years,on and off, and use an Agent in Pafos who I find very helpful. I can pass on details if you pm me.
You will be lucky to get a return of 2.5 to 3% in my experience.
Best of luck

Re: Paschalis Developers
Could not agree more with the initial advice of Nigel. You only have to type her name in to google to get a bucket load of info. On the firing side, as I did it some years ago, you must put it in writing confirming that all fees are paid up to date with nothing outstanding and if you are not in Cypr...

No idea Kempster.
You might want to try posting on Cyprus Anglo Info which is more suited to trades and DIY enquiries. Not that Nigel does not know everything about plumbing!

Re: CPN Have your say
Hi Nigel.
Obviously I and many others knew about the issue but when you see these figures, assuming this is a representative snapshot, the scale of the problem is potentially much larger than I imagined. Quite scary in fact.
Regards.

CPN Have your say
I find it alarming that 49% of voters have developer mortgages on their property.
Two questions-
Why is this the norm and seemingly acceptable? This should be zero in any normal society.
Why do 29% have no idea?

I do not know where you get the energy from but keep it up.
Best wishes to you and the family.
And you Pan. You deserve a wee mention.

Re: Tainted Deeds
Many thanks for the prompt reply Nigel. If I ever get offered my deeds I will need to be wary and check the paperwork before handing over the cash as my house had a considerable number of design changes and I have no idea whether the developer had these approved by the municipality. The contract sta...

Tainted Deeds
As we all know Land Registry is indeed speeding up the issue of title deeds but as we all may not remember some of these are likely to be tainted due to incorrect compliance with planning and building regulations. You mentioned in a post on the Troika/deeds article that the 3 types of deed are colou...

Re: Transfer of Electricity Account
I let my house out in Cyprus and as of last year the EAC started charging 100e deposit every time the tenancy changes. They publish a list of charges on their website.

Re: Good or tricky situation!
You need your deeds footy and you are not to blame for the situation. If I recall correctly the developer had been warned on several occasions and did nothing. Just another pain of Cyprus living in that you have to fight and pay to get what is yours. The other buyers will have to do likewise. I doub...

Re: Title Deed Issues..
A very similar thing happened to me Jumpingjax. When I signed my contract there was no mortgage on the house but my lawyer, who was subsequently found guilty by the Cyprus Bar Disciplinary Board, deliberately delayed registering my contract until after the developer registered a mortgage on it. I ho...

Re: Good or tricky situation!
I suspect that the reaction of your neighbours that you posted a few days ago simply confirms that you should look after your own interest first.
If the shoe was on the other foot I am sure they would take you to the cleaners as would the developer, the latter without hesitation.
