Re: Can non residents still rent out property

Hi Nigel,

I trust you are OK and coping with Lockdown.

Just a quickie. Do you know a reliable Accountant who can advise on the tax situation of a non resident paying tax on a rented out Cyprus property I own? I currently declare everything in the Uk.

Many thanks

Can non residents still rent out property

Hi All, I hope everyone is well in these dangerous times. An interesting question : When the UK was a member of the EU, a non Cyprus resident who owned a Cyprus property could rent out the said property on a full time tenancy etc. Does anyone know what the situation is now the UK is no longer in the...

Re: *** Applying for your Title Deeds ***

hello Mr Burger, As Nigel says........Run away at the speed of an Olympian. The developers are crooks, their Lawyers are crooks and they all know each other in the Land Registry and local District offices. As much as you may love the property there is another out there for you. Mine comes to mind bu...

Re: Title Deeds and the LRO UPDATE

Well, Well, Well....... Christmas became very stressful as there had been no sign of those wonderful pieces of paper generated by the highly efficient staff at the Limassol Land Registry Office. Commonly known as "PROPERTY TITLE DEEDS".... I am however, now able to report that the actual, real, pape...

Re: Title Deeds and the LRO

Hi Nigel, It is a toss up whether to sell or keep the tenant. He and his family have been known to us since 2004 or so and he is a very senior Director. He will probably retire in around 5 years and has said he is quite happy to remain on board until at least that time. What we need to consider is h...

Re: Title Deeds and the LRO

Hi Nigel.
Cash works.

We finally have the transfer completed even with the LRO creating problems at the time of the transfer.

I am unable to describe the sheer relief.

All we need now is a buyer..anyone want a great house in Cyprus?

Thank you for your support Nigel.

Re: Title Deeds and the LRO

Hi Nigel, I agree but what else can we do. We are both well over 70 now and we don't need the hassle any more. The dream of moving in on June 3rd 2003 followed by a huge party soon went downhill and whilst I would love to see the "ba...d" well and truly sorted, the legal system is far too corrupt to...

Re: Title Deeds and the LRO

Hello Nigel, Well, as usual Cyprus Law ground to a halt and no hearing taking place.....The local judges have not got a clue. They cannot agree amongst themselves what the "New law" re title deeds and the LRO means for common folk....... Luckily for us.....A woman based in Limassol who happened to h...

Sewerage Charges.

Hi All,

When are the sewerage charge invoices being issued this year please?

Will they still be from the Sewerage Board or the local village office?

Thank you in advance.

Re: Transferring funds to the uk

As an example I use HIFX now known as XE Currency. I have used them for 14 years with no problems. I am currently residing in Uk but have a Cyprus Bank account and debit card. I go online (you need to register) and use my debit card to conduct the transaction. If, having sold your house it is a trad...

Estate agents fees. and can we mention house sales to other member or guests?

Hi,

Hopefully we may soon receive our title deeds. (Ever the optimist). Any one paid Estate Agent fees recently for selling. If so what are costs like now?

Also, Nigel, are we allowed to put up details of ones own property for sale on the Forum?

Regards
