Re: How long from completion does it take to recieve funds?

Hi James & welcome to the forum When you sell a property you need to get confirmation for the Tax Department and the local Community/Municipality that you've paid all outstanding taxes before the property can be transferred to your purchaser. Here's an extract from the 'Department of Lands & Surveys...

Re: VAT on home construction over 200 square meters

Hi Zoom123 Looking at the example you would pay VAT at the reduced rate of 5% on the cost of the first 200sqm and VAT at the full rate of 19% on the cost of the rest. If you know the cost of the 210sqm. house your having built and the cost, you should be able to work out VAT at 19% on the 10sqm. Reg...

Re: VAT on home construction over 200 square meters

Hi Zoom123

There used to be a leaflet on one of the Cyprus Government websites, but it's no longer there. There's an article - VAT on the purchase of real estate in Cyprus - that may give you a clearer picture.

Re: Communal Fees - Making them up!

If you would like me to find out what sqm of the individual units in your development, drop me an email. I'll need a scan/cl...

Re: Communal Fees - Making them up!

At least it's sorted.

But it's the developer who advises the Land Registry of the areas of each unit so I don't how the figures Blue Orange had were different?

And as you have your Title Deeds why haven't you set up a Management Committee as required by the law?

Re: Finding owner of property.

Hi Ofer Unfortunately it can be difficult to find out who owns the house: In England and Wales The Land Registry operates an open register which means that copies of all documents referred to on the registered title can be obtained by anyone, subject to payment of the necessary fee. In Cyprus Inform...

Re: Tax Free Lump Sum

On the subject of MEU1, does anyone know the questions they ask at the immigration interview ? It isn't really an interview - it's checking the information that you take with your application. (I don't know of anyone who's been refused - I've been here for 17 years.) When you visit Immigration to m...

Re: Tax Free Lump Sum

Hi Hawkeye and welcome to the Forum BREXIT (allegedly) will happen on 31st October - deal or no-deal. If there is a deal you'll have a two-year transition period to work things out. I guess you've seen what information the authorities require before granting a Registration Certificate (MEU1) (Reside...

Re: Transfering money to Russia

Hi Ofer I guess this is the apartment in the 'Santa Barbara' development in Limassol? You'll need to check with your bank as to whether there any problems transferring money to Russia. But I would strongly urge you to appoint a lawyer in Cyprus in Cyprus to look after your interests. It may be that ...

Re: Building On Z1 Z3 Land

Hi Raed and welcome to the forum

I know Z1 and Z3 are protected zones, but I don't know what (if anything) you can build on them.

Pan a regular visitor here may know - or you can ask at the Town Planning Department.
