Maintenance payment options
Our AGM is next week and on the Agenda is "Option to separate pool maintenance and cleaning away from the maintenance contract". We have a very high payment rate by Owners and this, to me, seems like "mending something wot ain't broken". Is this a new system being introduced by the Cyprus Government...

Re: Buying in North Cyprus
Gary May I suggest that you come to Cyprus for 2 weeks, hire a car and look around Pafos and Protaras in your own time. There are zillions of places up for sale all with a phone number, so if you like the look of a place phone the number on the For Sale board. Do not use the sellers Lawyer at any co...

Re: Title Deeds extra expenses
If you read your Contract, you will see that he has paid them on your behalf since 2002 and in Order to get your Title deeds, he wants paying for them. He should provide you with the 1980 value of your property and the % rates for the 13 year period you have occupied the property.

Our Management Contract says that you may only resign at an AGM.
No Lawyers involved.

We all pay an equal amount irrespective of size. We all use the toilets, pool, gardens, roads, changing rooms, etc so we all pay an equal amount.

Re: LAW RELATING TO COMMUNAL SWIMMING POOLS
I heard that a pool was checked in Paphos 4 or 5 years ago, but not heard of any since.
Our pool is public, we just don't let anyone else use it, we have some big lads on our complex. The Police don't care, far to busy with other matters to sort out squabbling Brits.

Re: Non Payment of Communal Fees
The EAC can and does cut off the electricity supply to non-payers. I've been there several times to have friends and neighbours supply re-connected after they let their accounts slip into arrears. Whilst on the Management Committee, we always ensured that the accounts of the public areas were paid s...

When I was Chairman of our Committee, I found that owners were quite prepared to give me their e-mail addresses as this was the method of communication. Our Developers were very helpful as well.

It is a public pool as is ours. We just ignore the Lifeguard requirements, no-one checks up.
You can make being on the Committee a nightmare or be more relaxed about it.
