Re: Application for access to landlocked parcel of land.

Did I get it wrong Pan? Cheers, No not wrong Nigel, but the book is insufficient especially if you are going to get it by compulsory methods. The book is handy as a general reference guide and gives you somewhere to go. Alls good, I explained to David (as he came to me via your recommendation) the ...

Re: Site selection for agriculture

Thank you very much, I’m a totally novice in that field, could you please tell me is it easy to access the guys in the planning office? For the building 300-400 square meters is enough. And is there an explanation of zone labels? What is zone H or Γ? Thank you again! You can access the planning dep...

Re: Site selection for agriculture

Hello , The DLS portal does not give available plots, you find these via estate agents of for sale signs. Depending on your scheme, you may or may not be able to just do it, I would suggest you run your idea by a person in the planning office to get some idea if you might be able to do this. Just to...

Re: Selling property during COVID

Hello, if you are looking to sell, then the sooner it is on the market the better. It does not cost you to market it (going through a registered agency), and you have nothing to lose. The COVID19 situation has certainly put the dampers on sales, but there are still people looking, albeit fewer. You ...

Re: CGT

First I heard of this. Given the CGT is higher in Cyprus than the UK it is highly unlikely that once the tax is paid here (assuming there is tax to pay) that the UK would demand anything further. I mean, what is the purpose of the DTT if what you say is correct? Comments on these forums are for guid...

Re: Remortgage

Hello David, sorry to hear about your issues, but the Bank will try any tactic to get the most out of people. There is no magic wand unfortunately, you really need someone to negotiate on your behalf on this matter, as I have found from experience the home owner does not get very far in these cases....

Re: Land Registry

Hi, depends when they went, my understanding the LR were to open on the 6/5/20, to accept applications and such like, they still have limited access, but the online appointment is new to me. HTH EDIT: I wanted to take a planning application to the planning office today, they said I needed an appoint...

Re: Potential Fraud

I have a concern that an elderly relative is being defrauded in London. He has a number of assets in Cyprus and a lady is taking steps to register a Cypriot PoA in the UK to transfer over his assets to herself in Cyprus. Does anyone know what can be done about this - I have reported my concerns to ...

Re: Can I build and live on agricultural land

Hi Pan Has the ban on building on agricultural land been lifted? Regards Not that I have heard of yet. It wasn't a ban, it was a ban of any applications (until 30/4/20), building on agricultural land is at present always a no, depending as I stated before. Given the problems we are facing with the ...

Re: Steps to build a ready made container house

Hello Luciano and welcome to the forum. Your 1/14 share is 11.92 square metres! Too small for anything and you'll need vehicular access, electricity, water, etc, etc. Suggest you look for for a building plot (ikopedo). This will have a road, pavement, electricity and water already provided. Regards...

Re: Steps to build a ready made container house

Beware of buying shares of lands as they always come with problems. First of all you will need the permission of the other co-owners to do anything on this small plot, what if anyone of them refuses?? You should make sure you use a lawyer to buy this and that everyone agrees to sign any paperwork fo...

Re: Can I build and live on agricultural land

There is no VAT on the sale of agricultural land first off. When you say a water utility, what do you mean?? If it is the village water supply they will not connect you, you option is to have a borehole drilled to draw water. Normally you would need a permit to draw water, but many just drill and us...
