Management committee Secretary

Hello Nigel,
We have a management committee, however, our secretary has resigned. Can we be without a secretary until our AGM in November or must we call a meeting to elect another secretary. We still have a Treasurer and President.
Kind regards, Maz

Hello Maz
I haven't come across this situation before - and as far as I can see, it isn't mentioned in the relevant law.
I guess you could co-opt someone to act as your secretary until your next AGM - or call an EGM to vote in a replacement.
Regards,

Thank you Nigel, for your prompt reply. Would it therefore be possible for the Treasurer to take on the Secretary duties (Treasurer/secretary) until the AGM.
Regards, Maz

I don't know of any reason why not.

If there were other names for the position of secretary at the original voting that didn't get through, you could ask them.
Alternatively, if there was no interest then no one can really complain and anyone can step in temporarily until the next meet.
And come on, lets be honest, who's going to complain anyway. it's not like they are all dying to be secretary are they.
Go ahead, and don't worry about it, that's what I would do.
Good luck
