Hello Charalambo?
Welcome to the forum. When you say family who exactly do you mean?
the most you may be able to find you parents or even grandparents land. You would need to visit the Land registry here in Cyprus to do that however. You will need their names, ID numbers or passport number to do a search.
The search will detail what land is attached to those names, you may also have to visit the correct Land registry office, so know where your parents/G.parents were from you should know the district.
What district are you from??

Hi
Thanks for your response,
My Mother and Grand Parents live in the Limassol area but had land in the hills (May not be like that now as I believe the area has been opened up.
Can I access these departments via the internet or do you have to go there in person?
Regards Nick

Hi Nick,
you cannot access on line, you have to go in person. In fact if your parents/G.parents are alive they can go or go with you.
You will need to go to the Limmassol Land registry office for this.
Good Luck

Thanks for that.
Unfortunately my G/Parents and my Parents have all passed away. My mum passed away recently thus is why I’m asking. I'll have to go through my solicitor who is handling the estate.
Thanks once again for your time.
Kind Regards
Nick

I guess, you are going through probate now?? Once issued your solicitor has the power to do these things. You do relise probate costs in Cyprus are very expensive? They have the right to charge you 8%-10% of your estate value!
Total rip off if you ask me, a law made by lawyer MPs to make money on the deceased. If your lawyer is also your executor look out for a few more costs. Unless you negotiated a fixed fee, be prepared to pay my friend.
Personally I would want to know myself what assets my parents/g.parents had just to make sure you got your dues.
All the best.

Thanks again for your reply.
It sounds like Governments not only take money when you’re alive but also hit you when you die, what a sad society we live inn. As far as executor goes I’ve been given the unenvious job of that.
I'll have my solicitor look into it for me.
Thanks once again.
Regards
Nick
