Cyprus Property Sales (Estate Agents)

Hello to everyone (in fact anyone) viewing this post.
We are considering placing the sale of our 2 bedroom Pernera villa in the hands of a local (Cyprus) Property Sales Company, or as they are known in the UK, Estate Agent. Unless someone can persuade us otherwise, given their reputation, we would possibly like to avoid BuySell.com. Can anyone, having gone through, or are going through, the sale of their property in Cyprus, recommend an efficient, productive honourable and honest company with which to place our prized asset. May thanks.

Hi Churchill, I hope you weren't too badly hurt in the 'stampede' to furnish you with some recommendations! I suspect the lack of response may suggest that what you are looking for are pretty thin on the ground. I am, like yourself, want to put my property on the market, but don't know who to use - I think I would only turn to 'BuySell' if all else failed. If you have since managed to find a 'good' one, would you be kind enough to share that information. Many thanks, Tas.

Hi Tas
Have you tried advertising on the Internet? Sites like Angloinfo Cyprus and Cyprusexpat offer a free classified and a paid for featured classified services?
Also, pantheman who is a frequent visitor here is in the business.
Regards,

Dear Churchill (and anyone else considering selling),
I consider myself to be all that you require " ... recommend an efficient, productive honourable and honest company with which to place our prized asset...."
I would be happy to take a look.

http://www.parkerbarnes.com they have an office in Polis but advertise island wide and beyond
I am going to put my property on market with them in the spring, their fee is 5% plus vat.
The married couple who run the office are English and very helpful and knowledgeable
This Company is located on the West coast. the villa in question is on the east Coast and I daren't say they would have no real idea about sales in the east. Will they come from Paphos to do a viewing??
Just a thought.

Parker Barnes are registered as a company here in Cyprus, but they are not registered real estate agents. they cover the Polis area only, and the business has just changed ownership - I doubt if the new owners know where Pernera is, let alone be able to market your property properly. I strongly suggest that you use a local agent who knows the area well. i would strongly suggest FSB properties who have a very good reputation. if you were marketing a property in london - you would not use an agent based in Newcastle - a;ways use somebody local with a good reputation.

I wish you luck - you will need it ! My advice to anybody buying property is to use somebody local, and not to use an agent where a single viewing will take a round trip of 4 hours, just for the traveling. I do not know many agents who will be very keen on promoting a property this far away from their offices. Happy Christmas
