Hello Nigel.is this the answere to a multitude of problems when buying property in Cyprus.
When buying our apartment in Cyprus we used a UK lawyer (recomended by the UK law society)..He in turn of course engaged a Cypriot lawyer to do the conveyancing. It really did cost us an arm and a leg so to speak(five times what it cost my next door nieghbour here)but if anything does go wrong i would be covered by the UK law society.
Is this a to simple answere to reduce the risk all together when buying property in Cyprus?

Apologies footy - I occasionally miss new messages.

Yes - this could be a way of reducing your risk, but unfortunately there is no way of reducing the risk altogether.

Also there is at least one English lawyer in Cyprus who specialises in property and who is also a member of the UK law society and who is therefore governed by its rules and regulations.

Regards,

Yes - it's Louise Zambartas.

Louise used to answer the legal questions here.
