Final completion certificate

Hello Nigel,I've mentioned before about the old property we have substantially renovated, and we are now happily occupying. And also glad to say we have had only very minor problems which our Cypriot contractor has efficiently and quickly put right (your now probably thinking what is the problem). No problem as such but a question arises after a debate in the local bar the other night..One side says that before you occupy the property you have to have a "certificate of final completion"or something similar entitled..The other side says you do not because it is a "renovated"property which has always been lived in.
Thanks Nigel.....Terry Liversidge

Hi Terry

If there is already a Title Deed showing that a property occupies the land, I'm not sure whether you need a further 'Certificate of Final Completion'.

My guess is that you do not - but I suggest that you speak with your contractor.
