Hi Nigel

I have heard that there is a change to the size of plot needed to build in a rural area. Can you confirm the details.

I've heard about this also - from another forum.

It seems that the minimum plot size in agricultural zones allowed to be built on is four donums. It seems that in some areas this has already been implemented - in the question I was asked the change is being made in December.

I don't have any more details I'm afraid - perhaps Pan has more information?

Regards,

Thanks Nigel

We are surrounded by vineyards and fields very very few over 4 Domums (about 6000sqm I think) If this is correct we might not expect too many more neighbours. If you find out any more can you please post it?

Dave,

The size of the field would very much depend where it is located. I have a number of fields that range between 1 and 3 donums and all are possible to build in.

It depends on the district and if the field is alreay divided.

When you say 'surrounded by fields ........ very few less than 4 donums, I find this strange as many fields would be much greater than 4 donums.

The places I have heard where there is a min is 4000m2 or just short of 3 donums.

I can't give you a general size as there may be rules for different locations, eg, if it a protected area and so on.

Sorry can't help more than that, but I will ask around and see if I can't get anything else on this.

We are in a rural 10% build area only 4 houses in very large valley of small vinyards and fields, much of it inaccessible even to hunters because of the fractured nature of the land. Very different to the flat land in the east The official land sheet shows the approximate plot sizes. Most are in the 2000 to 4000 range.very few are 6000sqm.

The nature of the land and a public road of sorts mean no one can build in front of us or 2 other sides. My interest is to know how these new rules will be applied. There is hardly any building here now as it is far cheaper to buy something already built.
