communal electricity

They ---electricity board--switched it off just before Xmas.
They said it was a temporary supply (IN DEVELOPERS NAME --we have taken over complex mgmt.-and paid the last bill) and if we wanted to reconnect we had to get an authorised electrician to present a plan // also give them the load.
I have never heard of this----they say its because the last supply was temporary.
Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions

Hi Andrew

This is something your developer needs to sort out. Before the Electricity Authority will connect you to the mains supply they need details of the electrical work - drawings, loadings, etc. They will then visit and carry out an earth leakage test after which they'll connect you.

(I - or rather my builder - had to do this when I had my place built).

The developer will have all the information needed.
