Applying for title deeds

I know and have read of people who complain of not getting their title deeds but have not asked their developer or solicitor when they will get them. It appears that because of the of the publicity etc. they think that the deeds will appear soon? I think not!!
Is there anything that the buyer can be doing to help their cause just now, I know that we have written to our UK MPs etc. but is their anyone here in Cyprus we can write to/e-mail to make them take more notice or will we be "rocking the boat "or no notice will be taken just now because legistlation is going on.

Hi Whirlybird2

I think the best thing people can do is to continue to put pressure on their MPs & MEPs.

I guess you may have seen that the Cyprus Bar Association has condemned the governments proposed amendments to the legislation saying that they “will lead us into a labyrinth without solving the problem”.

And the proposed changes to the legislation are just a 'building amnesty' for property developers (and others) who have broken the law - effectively 'rewarding them' for their indiscretions.

Although the proposed changes will help some people get their deeds, they do nothing to rectify the most serious problem; i.e. those who have been mislead into buying mortgaged property and who face the very real threat of losing their homes if the developer collapses or the bank forecloses.

(Two property developers have already gone bust and the banks have told a number of their buyers that their homes could be taken away from them and sold to recover the developers’ debts.)
