Retaining walls

Hi,Nigel,do you know where i can get hold of building regulations for retaining walls.I.E. minimum height minimum widths etc.,thanks Terry Liversidge

Hi Terry,

I don't believe there's anything published in English - I've been looking for some time.

I believe the maximum height for a boundary wall is 1.1 or 1.2 metres above ground level, but you'll need to check with the local planning authority to be sure. As for it's thickness, that will depend on the weight of soil that it's retaining.
