Boiler service

Hi, we were wondering whether there are any legalities surrounding the cost of boiler service.

Our landlady says that we should pay for the service and she is responsible for the repairs should anything go wrong.

Seems a bit pushy to us ( she is generally like that) and we were wondering whether the law explains this responsibility.

Our lease agreement does not stipulate this unfortunately.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Lenovo6lengh

Unfortunately, there's no law that states who should pay for a boiler service. (I have an annual maintenance agreement with the company that supplied and installed my boiler.)

Regards,

In my book, all the infrastructure should be in good working order and it is the landlords responsibility to ensure as such.

Of course the is no law, otherwise where does it stop. You will otherwise be paying for something that is not yours, your rental payments should cover any repairs needed.

Challenge her on this. Good luck.
